• Rollovers. A rollover truck accident can be especially devastating, especially if the truck crushes another, smaller vehicle in the process. Rollovers are often the result of performing a maneuver erratically, such as taking a turn too fast.

This type of accident happens when a larger truck moves to the left before making a right-hand turn – they do this because they need additional clearance in order to make a turn. • Jackknife. A jackknife accident occurs when the tractor-trailer part of the truck swings at a 90-degree angle to the cab of the truck, much like a jackknife. In the process, the trailer may make contact with multiple different vehicles.
• Underride and override. Two of the most devastating types of accidents are underride and override crashes. An underride occurs when a smaller vehicle drives under the cab of a truck; an override crash occurs when a large truck drives over a smaller vehicle. These accidents usually happen when either a truck or a passenger car is following too closely/tailgating, or when a smaller vehicle cuts off a large truck.
